Points earned from the refunded purchase

A cancellation and a refund are not the same event. Canceling renewal generally stops a future charge; a refund reverses an existing transaction under the applicable policy.
Negative balances and level changes
If you used the earned points before the refund, Google can still deduct them. The displayed balance can therefore be negative. Future earned points first offset that negative amount.
Because the same points are removed from level progress, a refund can also affect your current earning rate and benefits. Check the level screen again after the refund is completed.
Refunds for items paid with points
Points exchanged directly for in-app items, in-app services, Play credit, or a cause are generally not refundable. Coupon cases differ: if a purchase made with a points coupon is refunded, Google says the paid amount and the points used for the coupon can be returned, but the coupon itself is not restored.
Eligibility for the purchase refund still depends on Google Play or the developer's refund policy.
What to record and check
- Save the order number and refund confirmation.
- Open Play Points → Points history and note the original earned points.
- After the refund, compare balance and level progress.
- If the numbers do not update as expected, contact support with screenshots and the order number.
