Requirements before changing country
You must be physically in the new country and add a payment method issued for that country. Google also applies a 90-day interval after setting or changing the Play country.
Members of a Google family group cannot change Play country until they leave the group. The change can take up to 48 hours.
Play Points and level are lost
When the Play country changes, the existing Play Points balance and level do not move to the new country. Joining again starts under the new country's thresholds and earning unit.
Moving from the US to Korea or Taiwan does not convert 150 US Silver points into the local Silver progress. The new account view follows the destination rules.
Play balance, apps and subscriptions
The old Google Play balance stays associated with the old country and cannot be used in the new country. Some apps, books, movies and other content may no longer be available.
Existing subscriptions can continue, require a payment update or behave differently depending on the provider and country. Review important subscriptions before changing.
Checklist before confirming
Record your points, level, old balance, family status and active subscriptions. Confirm the destination country is the place where you now live and that its payment method is ready.
After the change, wait up to 48 hours, then verify the Play country and rejoin Play Points if the program is available.
